Nigerian defender Tyrone Ebuehi has joined FC Twente on loan from Portuguese side Benfica.

The full-back joined the Dutch Eredivisie side on a season-long loan on Friday, in order to get his career back on track.

Ebuehi burst into the scene during his time with Dutch side Ado Den Haag and his impressive performances earned a move to the Portuguese giants.

However, his career suffered a huge setback when he picked up a cruciate ligament injury and was out of action for the whole 2018/2019 campaign.

Since returning to full fitness, the 24-year-old has failed to get opportunities with Benfica senior team and only managed just six appearances for the reserves.

Ebuehi will now hope to relaunch his career with FC Twente when the 2020-2021 Eredivisie season kick-off in the coming weeks.Brila
