Barcelona: Pique injury could force Catalans into transfer market
According to reports, Barcelona may look to sign a replacement for Spanish defender Gerard Pique on short-term during the January transfer window.
33-year old Pique will be missing in action for at least three months after picking up a serious knee injury during Barcelona's La Liga encounter against Atletico Madrid on Saturday night.
The Mattress Makers defeated the Catalans by a lone goal and this has pushed Barca down the top flight table as well as mounted more pressure on Dutch Manager Ronald Koeman.

Koeman replaced Quique Setien as Barcelona Head Coach following the Catalans' end to the 2019/20 season without a trophy.
According to Marca, club officials are open to the idea of allowing Koeman to bring in a fresh face for that area of the pitch.
With the current situation on ground, Clement Lenglet, Ronald Araujo and Samuel Umtiti are fighting for two positions, leaving Barcelona short of cover.
However, with Barcelona's current financial situation, there will be the need for a meeting to determine whether a new signing will be possible.
