Jack Grealish was linked with a summer move to Manchester United who are Man City's arch-rivals.
The Englishman has been helpful in Villa's beautiful start to the 2020/21 season and has already netted four goals and recorded six assists from eight Premier League appearances this term.
Grealish, 25, was impressive for England during the Three Lions' UEFA Nations League encounter against Belgium, a game De Bruyne's side won 2-0.

Pep Guardiola is focused on City's transfer business after committing his future to the four-time Premier League champions, and the Spaniard picked De Bruyne's brains over Grealish, The Independent says.
The report claims that City are now prepared to swoop for Grealish following conversations between De Bruyne and Guardiola, although having penned a new deal at Villa Park until 2025 over the summer, it would supposedly take a bid in excess of £100m to convince Dean Smith's side to sell.
