Aftermath of Hull City-Victory: Mikel with his low pace, rated six in Middlesbrough's lone goal home win
Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel has once again shown his usefulness to Championship side Middlesbrough, who beat Hull City 1 - 0 on Saturday, in their
quest of reaching the playoffs with four matches left in the English Championship on Saturday.
"Uncle" Mikel who captained Boro in their lone goal win against Hull City turned out to be the club’s saviour after Britt Assombalonga had given the side the lead.
Mikel enjoyed a rating of six in the overall assessment of players.
The midfielder struggled to cope with pace for the better part of the second half which the opponents failed to capitalise on.
After the victory, Mikel told Middlesbrough official website: “I think the first half was a really good game."
“Maybe we could have killed it with one or two more goals.
"...the guys put in a shift and we got the three points.”
Since he joined in February on a free this season, Mikel has featured 14 times for Tony Pulis' side.
