Covid-19: AC Milan Head Coach Stefano Pioli tests positive

Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan have confirmed that Head Coach Stefano Pioli has tested positive for coronavirus.

After a test at the club's training ground, the Rossoneri Manager's result came out positive.


Most of AC Milan players are currently away on international assignment.


An official statement released by the club: “AC Milan reports that Stefano Pioli tested positive after a quick swab was carried out this morning.


“The manager, who does not show symptoms, was promptly placed in quarantine. All other swabs carried out on the team group were negative. Today’s training has been canceled.

"Subject to the monitoring required by the federal protocol, the team will resume the training program ahead of the match against Napoli on Monday afternoon.”


Currently, AC Milan are toppers of the Italian Serie A table with seventeen points, two points above Sassuolo who are second while SSC Napoli and Roma are third and fourth respectively.


Reigning Italian champions Juventus are placed fifth, four points behind Stefano Pioli's side.
