After eight days, Claudio Ranieri appointed Roma Manager

After eight days of being sacked as Fulham Boss, Claudio Ranieri is back in management at Roma - EuroSport

Former Chelsea and Leicester Manager has been appointed as Italian club AS Roma Manager until the end of the season.

After winning just 3 out of his 17 games in
charge, Ranieri was sacked by Fulham eight days ago.

67-year old Ranieri is back in management after taking over at Roma.

This will be his second spell in charge of Roma. He first managed the Serie A side in 2009 till 2011.

He replaces Eusebio Di Francesco, who was sacked on Thursday following their Champions League exit against Porto.

“I’m delighted to be coming back home. When Roma call you, it’s impossible to say no,” he told the club's website.

However, Roma director Francesco Totti has backed the former Chelsea, Valencia and Monaco boss to ensure they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Totti said, “Claudio’s from the city, he’s a Roma fan but more than that, he’s one of the most experienced coaches in world football.”
