Nigeria German Head Coach Gernot Rohr has revealed, that striker Odion Ighalo, who finished as the highest scorer in the just concluded 2019 AFCON Qualifying series, will have to start from the bench against
Egypt in today's international friendly at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, even though his ankle injury is showing massive progress after he joined his teammates in training.

Rohr disclosed to journalists, “Ighalo was at the training this morning(yesterday) but he will be on the bench against Egypt.”

Initially, the German thought the Shanghai Shenhua striker will be missing completely against Egypt, however, he has made impressive progress in recovering from his injury.

The coach also opined that he will make changes to the team that started against Seychelles.

He also said, he will try as many players as possible in the friendly against Egypt.

“The four players that were deployed to the Under 23 will be with us on the bench against Egypt to assure them that we are together," Rohr said.
