Villarreal grabbed a vital lone goal victory at Girona after Nigeria international Samuel Chukweze netted an early goal for the visitors.
Chukwueze hit the back of Girona's net in the seventh minute as they crawled away from the relegation zone with two points.
Previously, the winger was helpful for Villarreal in their 4 - 4 draw against League toppers, Barcelona.
