Spurs goalie Hugo Lloris has pledged Tottenham Hotspur’s players are willing to suffer physically and mentally in order to beat Manchester City and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time.
Spurs travelled to Manchester sensing they will never have a better chance of beating this City team after the 1-0 win in London last week and there was an air of confidence as both Lloris and manager Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media ahead of the second leg.
Despite losing Harry Kane to an ankle injury , midfielder Dele Alli is expected to pass a late fitness test which will mean he is able to play with a broken hand.
“We have a small advantage, but things can turn very quickly,” said Lloris.
“We have to come here with ambition, with the mentality to score goals, we will make it harder for Manchester City. We cannot just come here to defend.
“It’s going to be tough, but we are ready to suffer. We are going to suffer tomorrow so that we can reach the semi-finals. We are ready to fight to make history.”
