"Remain in France, some moved and their career didn't take off as expected" - Garba Lawal advises Osimhen on England move

Former Super Eagles utility man Garba Lawal says Victor Osimhen will do well by spending another season at France Ligue 1 side Lille instead of pushing for a transfer after a very successful first season at the club.

Osimhen finished the season with 18 goals and as expected there have been interests from teams in Europe with rumours of a bid of around £75m lodged for him by one of the teams interested in his services.

"You know some players move and their career didn't take off as expected. He can go there and be a hit but presently he isn't better than any of the players at the clubs he has been linked with like Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United," Lawal told OwnGoalNigeria.

"What he needs now is a team where he will get games and develop further. Going to any of the teams mentioned above could be counter productive, so I will advise him to remain in France with Lille for at least another season before a move to England," Lawal concluded.
