The Stadio Olympico was scheduled to open the European Championship on Monday with an Italy-Turkey match, however, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the tournament to be pushed back a year.
Euro 2020, 11 June 2021 - 11 July 2021, is to be hosted in 12 cities and the City of Rome has been retained as one of those cities.
The UEFA Executive Committee still confirmed today that the Studio Olympico will be a host venue as well as continue to stage the same fixtures as planned originally.
Therefore, the match between Italy and Turkey will remain as the first fixture of the revised schedule of the Euro 2020.
Italy's Group A games against Switzerland and Wales will be hosted inside the Studio Olympico on June 16 and 20 respectively.
One of the quarter-finals will also be played at the same venue on July 3.
The Wembley Stadium, London will host the final match on July 11.
