Quique Setien’s side came into the game with a two-point lead over title rivals Real Madrid with nine rounds remaining and looked set to move five clear again as they dominated the early exchanges.
Barcelona’s title hopes took a blow on Friday night as the Catalans dropped two points away to Sevilla in an interesting draw.

Despite all their possession, Barca’s best chances came via Lionel Messi free-kicks, one of which was headed over the bar by the backtracking Jules Kounde.

Barca pressed for a late winner and won a string of free-kicks and corners, but the game ended goalless.
