Arkadiusz Milik has suddenly told Napoli he wants to stay, infuriating the club and having a knock-on effect for Roma and Juventus.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Poland international has decided he’s not intrigued by the options on the table for him – specifically Roma or Tottenham Hotspur  – and would prefer to remain at the Stadio San Paolo.

However, as his contract is due to expire in June 2021 and he refused an extension, that means he could soon leave as a free agent.

“If Arek doesn’t find another club, then it won’t be an easy situation for him, because we have already signed another two forwards. There’s no room for him,” coach Gennaro Gattuso told Sky Sport Italia this evening.

If Milik refuses to move, that will have a serious knock-on effect for other clubs, as Roma have been negotiating to sign him as a replacement for Edin Dzeko.

Once he arrives, then Dzeko could be allowed to leave the Giallorossi for Juventus.

Milik had originally rejected the Napoli extension, as he expected to reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus, but then the former Partenopei coach was fired. Football-italia
