Watch 👇 Samuel Chukwueze scored the only goal of the game as Villarreal earned a 1-0 win over Girona on Sunday evening.
The Yellow Submarine have spent the most part of this season – sitting in the bottom three but Javi Calleja’s return as boss and their recent form has seen them move away from the dreaded drop zone.
Part of that improvement has been the arrival of young star Chukwueze, who continued his fine form from the get go against Girona.
The youngster struck on the seventh minute.

Girona did have their chances and saw a goal ruled out through VAR.

The win moves Villarreal up to 15th in the La Liga standings, whilst struggling Girona sit one place above.
