UCL: Ajax vs Juventus - Ronaldo set to return after thigh injury - Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus Boss, has disclosed that forward Cristiano Ronaldo is "working hard" on his recovery and “hopes to have him available” at Ajax for the
Champions League Quarter Finals first leg clash.

On Friday, Allegri said Ronaldo was a doubt for next week’s UCL game in Amsterdam after being forced off the pitch with a thigh injury while playing for Portugal during the international break. A Euro 2020 qualifier against Serbia which ended 1 - 1.

“The exam he had this morning revealed that the leg is much better. Then of course it depends how the player reacts and the eventual pain that he feels,” Allegri said.

Italian side, Juventus, progressed into the quarter finals of the UCL after Ronaldo netted a hat-trick against Spanish side Atletico Madrid to overturn a two-goal deficit from the previous round first leg.

"This is why Juventus brought me here, to help do things that they have never done before," 34-year old Ronaldo said after helping Juventus to the quarter finals of the UCL.
