Roma striker Patrik Schick is reportedly close to joining Bayer Leverkusen for just under €30m, beating RB Leipzig, Fiorentina and Torino, as he'll replace Chelsea-bound Kai Havertz.
The forward impressed on loan at RB Leipzig in the 2019-20 season, but the German club did not activate his option to buy for €29m, after paying €3.5m for the temporary contract.
They had tried to negotiate it down, while there was also Serie A interest from Fiorentina and Torino.
He scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 28 competitive games for RB Leipzig.
However, Tuttomercatoweb and Fabrizio Romano claim this evening that Bayer Leverkusen have stepped up with an offer worth just under €30m, including performance-related bonuses.
This should be enough to convince Roma, who are happy just to have the Czech Republic international off their books.
Bayer Leverkusen have the money thanks to their €80m plus €20m in add-ons deal to sell Havertz to Chelsea.
